I Live together with my collegue and husband Daniel Broman from USA. We have a studio called Dragonfield Pottery - were we work with our art - both painting and sculpturing in wood and ceramics. I am very inspired of the ancient shapes and techniques in ceramics - several thousands of yearspottery has been made all over the world. Wood firing, pit firing and Chino and Ash glases is my big love. My paintings and my ceramics i want to show my swedish heritage and also the quiteness from the nature - far away from the sounds of the modern world and big cities. I was born in 1964, and ever since I could hold a pencil I have wanted to become an artist. At 17 years old I was accepted to an art academia (Hellidens Folkhögskola) were I studied ceramics, photo (black and white), copper graphics, lithography and painting. After studying for two years, I took time off from school and traveled throughout southern Europe, studying art, cultures and nature.
Troughout my early career while traveling, I continued on with my studies of model drawing, photo, ceramics, copper-graphics, and languages. During this period of my life I helped make ends meet by doing portraits, drawings and paintings (at this time I realized that it was possible to provide for myself with my art).
1992 I started at the Ceramic school “Form academia” in Lidköping,
I studied the intricacies of the handicraft that i love ceramics. During the two years I sharpened my throwing skills under my master Kent Eriksson, thrower and coworker with Carl Harry Stålhane.
At the end of my schooling the ceramic school was so impressed with my abilities that they hired me as a teacher, were I stayed for about two years.

In 1990 my first love came in to my life with the birth of my son Henrik. He became my focus at this point and I settled down in a little cottage in the countryside (Kungslena). I scraped together the equipment for a ceramic and painting studio and started selling my work through out Västra Götaland.

From the time I started at school I studied black burning techniques, ancient Scandinavian pottery and stoneware.
1993-2003 I have been competing in the Nordic Throwing competition, winning in -99 and till 2002 placed in the top three. 1998 and -99 I joined the World Throwing competition in Faenca, Italy, placed top three in the women’s division.
My big interest is the Old Norse traditions and I have studied in depth the pottery from this time. What has caught my interest most is the black burned pottery and also that it is so similar all over the world from different ancient cultures.

All though my primary focus lately has been on pottery, because of my love of painting I have started making canvases of my pots. I have come to love painting with oxides on my stoneware.
My pottery has branched into larger scale, large sculptural pots with intricate paintings upon them.
I find that working in weights of 15- 50 kilos of clay has challenged my years of throwing.
Today I find myself teaching at “Katedralskolan”, gymnasium in Skara, as an art teacher and at the same time I am going to college in Gävle where I am studying for a teaching degree. I am also working in my studio with my husband and colleague, realizing the blossoming of a life long dream.
